Biography of our Chairman Chief Egbunike Ojugbana

Chief Egbunike Ojugbana, a distinguished son of Asaba in Delta State, hails from a proud and noble lineage as a direct descendant of nnebisi, the revered founder of the Asaba Kingdom. His heritage instilled in him from an early age a deep sense of responsibility, community service, and leadership — values that have defined his life and career.

Chief Ojugbana began his early education in Nigeria, where he showed exceptional promise both academically and in leadership. Eager to expand his horizons, he later traveled to the United Kingdom to pursue higher education. His years abroad not only broadened his intellectual and cultural outlook but also led him to meet Edith, the woman who would become his lifelong partner. Their union — a blend of Nigerian and British heritage — symbolized a bridge between two cultures, rooted in mutual respect and shared aspirations.

In the 1970s, following his studies, Chief Egbunike Ojugbana joined Shell Petroleum, one of the world’s leading energy companies. His work there deepened his understanding of corporate operations, management, and international business standards. Motivated by a passion to contribute to national development, he later returned to Nigeria with his wife, bringing with him a wealth of experience, discipline, and an entrepreneurial vision.

Upon his return, Chief Ojugbana founded MADEC Associates Nigeria Ltd, a business consulting firm that quickly gained recognition for its professionalism, integrity, and strategic insight. Under his leadership, MADEC Associates has collaborated with several state and federal government agencies, as well as numerous private sector organizations, providing expert advisory services that have supported growth, reform, and sustainable development he later went on to incorporate Sarah Vesta into his group of companies.

Due to his distinguished achievements in the world of business, community development and leadership he was bestowed with the highly coveted title of Ogbuefi.

Beyond business, Chief Ojugbana remains a respected community leader, mentor, and cultural ambassador. His commitment to excellence and ethical leadership reflects the enduring values of his Asaba heritage and the pioneering spirit of his ancestor, Nnebisi. Through his work, he continues to uphold the ideals of service, innovation, and unity — inspiring younger generations to pursue success with integrity.

Today, Chief Egbunike Ojugbana is celebrated not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his enduring legacy as a bridge between tradition and modernity, Nigeria and the wider world, and vision and action.

He is the proud father of five children, two of whom have gained notable public recognition. His first child Mandy Brown-Ojugbana achieved success as a multi-platinum selling singer with popular hits such as Taxi Driver and Breakthrough. She later transitioned into a career in media, working as both a television and radio personality in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. His youngest son, Les Ojugbana, is a former professional athlete, who went on to become a British and European MMA Champion who has since become a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist and business leader.
